So in the midst of all the chaos of trying to get Ghost in to be seen by a specialty vet, Momma Lily had 11 puppies😳 2 were stillborn. A couple of them seem a bit weaker than the rest, but its too early to tell.
So far their amazing foster momma @hiddenleafqueen is taking such good care of them keeping them! We are so thankful to her for taking Lily in on such short notice. 🙏🏼💕🙏🏼💕
Puppies get VERY pricey so if you’d like to donate towards their care, anything is appreciated!

Sidenote back to Ghost! He will be seen at the Blue Pearl Specialty Hospital tomorrow.🙏🏼 Given the urgency of Ghost’s need for surgery, we are prioritizing vet availability as well as reputation. While there may be less expensive options, we believe this is the best plan to give give him the life he deserves.
Thank you so much to those of you who have already donated! We will share costs and estimates as soon as we have them🙏🏼💜 We truly can not do what we are doing without the ongoing support and we truly appreciate each and every one of you!
Please keep sending all the good juju for Ghost, Lily and her babies💕
#A5444139 💜💜💜 Ghost is free, but our work is not even close to over. We went to corona animal emergency first for an exam, if he needed emergency surgery and so that they can lead us in the right direction as we’ve had really good experience with them in the past.
Based just on x rays, looking and feeling the tumor, the doctor said it is very likely that it is a local malignant tumor, BUT we can’t know for certain if it metastasized in that area until we go get a ct scan which at vca is about $3,500 and then operate and biopsy which we are probably looking at anywhere between 4 to 6k for surgery. We will have more precise numbers once we get his appointment set which we wont be able to reach anyone until tomorrow. We just know it’s going to be even more than we expected.
On a brighter note, he is absolutely the sweetest boy. He was giving kisses and had his head on my shoulder the entire drive to the hospital🥰 He is now going to get to rest at his loving foster home.
He was scheduled to die on Friday bcuz the shelter said he was suffering. When we asked for more time to raise funds, once again it was “now or never.”🤦🏼♀️ They basically gave us 2 days so we took a chance in hopes that our good karma will pay off and we will have the financial support we need🙏🏼💕
All he wants to do is explore everything and give kisses😭 Ghost deserves a fighting chance at life❤️🙏🏼 If you pledged towards his medical, please honor it. Our expenses are already through the roof and the amount of dogs we’ve pulled over the last few weeks alone requires so much and we can only keep doing what we are doing with the support of the beautiful likeminded humans who want to give these guys their best chance at the life they deserve. she is very underweight, but naturally petite, she has enlarged mammary’s and some tumors that will need to be removed. She is so mellow, seems quiet and sweet. We think she can be good with other dogs. Not reactive at all, but obviously would need proper intro.

We have way too many dogs and our expenses are through the roof with medical and training costs! Keep in mind we have a lot of senior dogs that are not getting adopted and we financially support all of them as long as they are under our rescue!
If there is someone out there who will sponsor the cost his surgery, we will do everything else 😭🙏🏼
We understand that there may be pledges, but sadly many people do not honor them and there are also scammers so we can’t really pull a dog depending on pledges to help us😔
They wanted to euthanize at 8am today as per the shelter vet “he is suffering, the mass is growing and they are afraid it will burst” Swipe to see him prance around like a little pony! Tell me this dog doesn’t have so much life left to live! 💔

Old man Gordon is running free now🌈🕊🐕 We knew he would be a hospice when we rescued him, but of course it’s never easy when it’s time to say goodbye💔 We could not be more thankful that he got to spend the time he had left with Ben. Took me several days to figure out the words to put together for Gordon.
Even though he was doing fantastic and acting like a young pup again, his Earth body went downhill really fast and we had to make the choice to let him run around with former pack members pain free #RunInPeace 🌈 @underdogheroes_
A little rant in hopes that it will shift some perspectives on what it means to foster a dog.
Most of the dogs we rescue are not the easiest to place through no fault of their own. We need fosters who are willing to do the work and take the necessary steps to help these dogs be ready to find their forever homes.
These dogs ARE inherently good, but when they come out of the shelter or off the streets they’re confused and just trying to survive. All they have is their animal instincts and confusion.
They might resource guard, growl for space, not be social, relieve themselves in the house or crate, bark and howl, pull on leash, have separation anxiety, or do any number of things that may not be “ideal” for us to work with. Please understand that as a foster it is YOUR job to guide them. You can help them understand that some of these behaviors are just no longer necessary by understanding that they are not wrong or bad for displaying them. Everything is manageable.
When looking for a dog to foster, we get that ideally, you want it to be an easy transition and sometimes it is, but expecting anything other than the unknown from your new foster dog is setting yourself up to fail them.
There are rules and boundaries that we require our fosters to implement for the dog’s safety and your own. A foster dog is not some charity case to parade around just to say you did something good. It is a living breathing being who has gone through hell and they are depending on you to bring them back to life❤️🩹
We hope to encourage you to foster the dog that pulls at your heartstrings. Not search for a dog that sounds good on paper and checks off all your boxes. We hope to inspire you to take a real chance on these dogs. We want to work with fosters who are willing to make changes to accommodate the dog’s needs.
Nothing is more rewarding than looking back on your journey and seeing what you’ve accomplished on behalf of the dogs you’ve fostered.
Neptune💔😢 5 days ago, i was talking to my friend, Ric, reposting his story’s of how adopting Neptune was the best thing that ever happened to him, expressing his gratitude for our help, and 2 nights ago i was told that Ric was found dead and animal control got to Neptune before we could.
Luckily some good humans who knew how much Ric loved Neptune helped get him out yesterday, but we had to think fast bcuz we couldn’t network and find a foster on such short notice. Due to another ironic twist of events which we will post about later @taoofbalance had a spot open up to take him in for a full rehab❣️
We could have easily put him in boarding to buy time and save money, but that’s NOT how we do things. That would have done more harm than good. Instead we would rather pay for him to be in a comfortable place with someone who can understand him and help him work through the sense of confusion and abandonment in hopes that our community will support our decision and help us by donating towards his care 🥺🙏🏼
Moving forward, Neptune will need a foster when he is ready to transition. We really hope he will capture someone’s heart like he captured ours 3 years ago and find someone to open their home to him. As of now, he is selective with other dogs. He is not reactive on leash or anything like that. He just clicks with some dogs and doesn’t care much for others. We’ve added a video from when he was with Ric and playing with one of his dog friends so you can see his play style.
If you are willing to foster this sweet boy and let him know he is not alone, it would mean everything to us🙏🏼💔
Rest in peace dear friend🙏🏼💔🌈🕊

#A1649146 so help me, I’ve had ENOUGH of this damn shelter mislabeling EVERY freaking dog!!!
Ive attached screenshots of some email exchanges since they killed Star who Cassidy was originally going to foster😢 but they killed her even though they said they would hold her for someone to pick up the next day. Don’t mind all my typos. I was pretty pissed.
Then when i emailed to place a commitment on Ferris (now Blue, the husky), i got a call from the rescue coordinator who the once again INCOMPETENT staff thoroughly convinced her that he is so aggressive and dangerous that the vets could not examine him and asked me several times if im sure i want to commit to this dog🤦🏼♀️ Of course my decision had to be based on whether or not @cassidy9house was still willing to take the chance and THANKFULLY she has a lot of foster experience and has learned and is continuing to learn a more about dog behavior @ff_dogtraining .
We also had one of my favorite people, Luciana @theocpack on standby ready to meet Cassidy with Blue in case we needed extra guidance, but of course he is not the monster they painted him out to be. He has his quirks and doesn’t fully trust everything yet, but he is not “aggressive”
These are the types of fosters we need! We need more people who want to understand the dogs, take a chance on them and actually be a stepping stone for them on their way to a forever home. As a foster, a dog should not always be required to be “ready for adoption” with no issues.
Anyway, Blue is safe thanks to these incredible humans who were willing to foster and give him a fair chance at life. Once again, we will need to neuter and get him properly vetted. Please consider donating to help us with these ongoing vet bills💜🙏🏼

BUSTER!!!💘 The cutest mini pittie that ever lived! Buster has a heart murmur that is on the higher level. From 1 to 6, his is a grade 4. This is not an uncommon thing among dogs. There are many dogs who live a healthy long life with a heart murmur.
There are meds that they can take for the rest of their life, but as with anything, there are risks and potential side effects. These meds are considered diuretics so they can effect the kidneys with prolonged use. It is not necessary to start meds until a dog starts to display certain symptoms like excessive coughing.
The ultrasound and x ray with the cardiologist cost us $950 (swipe) bcuz we wanted to be sure we know the full extent of his condition.
He is overall very healthy , plays with the other dogs, does his zoomies and runs around just fine.
Please consider donating towards Buster’s medical.
