🌟 Here she is! 🌟

Our newest shining star is named Tala! 💕 💫

She’s a blind and deaf gal, so she’s a bit confused about this new joint but she’s doing well so far. She can be a bit sassy we are told, but she’s up to date on her shots and she is ADORABLE❣️

Tala needs an anti fungal bath every week or two for her skin issues, but other than that she’s pretty hip despite being 11 years old. 💜

We were so excited to welcome such a lovely old gal to the Haven yesterday! 🚙

Yesterday we welcomed a new little Shih Tzu lad to the Haven! 🚕 🐾 🐕

Chester is an adorable white and tan fellow who loves a cozy space to call his own. He is blind and has some hip issues so he tends to keep to himself but overall he's such a sweet guy.

Chester takes Gabapentin to help with his arthritis pain and he will need his medication long term. This sweet boy will be fostered in Columbia, Maryland and does well with other dogs. 💙🐾🤍

Pretty old gal Sophia got a good grooming and she’s feeling ✨ fabulous ✨ in her new sweater and bow. 🎀

Now that she’s all cleaned up, it’s much easier to see the mass on her belly. We are hoping to have it removed and keeping paws crossed that it isn’t cancerous and that it can come off with an easy recovery. 🙏

What a day! 🚙 🚕 🚗

We welcomed some new faces today, and some old faces (ie. - Sheriff Bitty) are feeling a bit disgruntled about the changes. 🧐

We will be introducing everyone but for now a special thank you to Mischelle Gunzelman and Shelly de Souza for working together getting Lola the GSD from Tazewell County, VA to us in Rockville, MD.

We also need to thank Kathy Milani for helping us get Chester and Tala from a dear friend in Tappahannock, VA to us in Rockville.

And lastly, thank you to Jason and Jani Willis for jumping into action to foster new guy, Chester!

Guess who’s back?! 💔🥺

Sadly, sweet Suzi is coming back to the Haven after her adoptive family didn’t work out. We work incredibly hard to ensure that we make a great match for pup and family, but Suzi has been feeling lonely when she’s left alone while her family works and she’s been a bit vocal about her displeasure. She is such a good girl, incredibly friendly with other dogs, kids and adults. She also walks well on leash, is housebroken and just wants a safe, happy home to hang out. We think she would love to have a dog friend in the house, as she LOVED her fur foster sister.

Suzi Q just needs a good fren to hang out with and we are happy to welcome her back so we can try matchmaking again! 💜🐾🤍

🐾💜 Adoptable Logan 💜🐾

*Located in Vienna, VA*

Adoptable Logan: This little guy is complex and adorable! He is cute and active when he isn’t asleep (which is 90% of the day). 💤 🥘

Logan takes life on his own terms. He eats twice a day, will bathroom outside and can use pee pads inside. Loves his snuggly beds. 🛏 Because he is mostly blind, he will bite if picked up when he doesn’t want to be or is unsure of who is handling him. So, his forever home will need to have humans with good reflexes or something in your hand like a bone when you pick him up so he bites that, lesson learned. He likes other dogs, especially older ones, needs meds for his gall bladder and a sweater to stay warm this winter. He does warm up and learn to trust, he likes knowing his human is nearby.

Logan loves scratches, especially behind the ears and doesn’t require long walks, infact he prefers several short outings to potty versus a long walk. 💜🐾🤍
