This is the SECOND COMMUNITY CAT IN ONE WEEK (& the third this year) found with a burn wound.

Black cats are targeted by people with the worst intentions.

According to Alley Cat Allies, there is no factual evidence that black cats are in greater peril at any point (in October/at Halloween, for instance) any more than cats of all fur colors are at any time of the year.

Cats face real horrors YEAR-ROUND.

If you see (or believe) someone is abusing a cat in your neighborhood, please call the Animal Protection Unit of the Norfolk Police Department @NorfolkPD and REFERENCE THIS CASE (# pending):

Witnessing abuse is traumatic, and it can be hard to keep calm and focused, but PLEASE try to accurately and effectively document (photo, audio/video) and report animal cruelty for our community’s safety.

At Feral Affairs Network (FAN), we believe public access to key data that we are tracking is vital to the success of our organization.

Our numbers tell where we've been, where we are, and where we are going. Additionally, we believe in transparency. The best way to tell you, our community, what we are doing is to post our statistics and lifesaving percentage on our website. If our community knows what we are doing, you will be better able to make the decision to support us in becoming champions, volunteers, fosters, donors and/or adopters.

Each adoption, donation and other interaction with you brings us closer to fulfilling our mission to reduce cat overpopulation and provide relief to overcrowded shelters through trap-neuter-return (TNR). FAN is saving the lives of homeless, unwanted, sick, and injured cats by working with our community, i.e., networking (it's in our name!), to provide feline expertise and life-saving programs and services for people and cats.

Our goal is to have a positive impact on cat homelessness and overpopulation over time. Our lifesaving percentage represents the number of cats saved by Feral Affairs Network.
