We are a licensed, non-profit 501(c)(3), no-kill animal shelter - we have both dogs and cats and, often times, puppies and kittens available for adoption.

- Assist in the prevention of cruelty to animals.

TLC is working to make Lumpkin County a no-kill community.

TLC Humane Society, legally recognized as Dahlonega-Lumpkin County Humane Society, was founded in 1977 and is Dahlonega, Georgia's only no-kill shleter. We are a licensed non-profit 501(c)(3) rescue organization and have both dogs and, often times, puppies and kittens available for adoptions, and all of them need to find a good home.

We are located in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in beautiful north Georgia. Lumpkin County is mostly rural farmland with about 25,000 folk at present. The county is growing by leaps and bounds.

TLC Humane Society has 5.87 acres of beautiful property which includes a small block house and 21 kennels.

TLC Humane Society is very active in the community, hosting adoption events almost every weekend on the beautiful Dahlonega Square and sometimes at other location nearby. In addtion, we hold many other activities throughout the year, such our annual Bark in the Park Festival in the fall.

We do our best to save as many animals as we can, but that's only possible with the help of our community and people like you. We are especially happy to find new volunteers who share our commitment to the animals of Lumpkin County. A helping hand is always greatly appreciated!
