Macon County Animal Control and Care Center

The mission of the Macon County Animal Control and Care Center is to do everything practical to assist in life preservation of animals within our community. Unfortunately part of our operation does include euthanizing animals under certain conditions when all other options have failed. Our trained personnel limit the number of animals euthanized when at all possible. That being said, we are NOT a "no kill" facility. However, rest assured all is done within our means to avoid this task when possible.

Macon County Animal Control is a division of the Macon County Sheriff's Department. We provide Animal Control services to all of Macon County and the city of Decatur. We also place animals up for adoption in the hopes of finding homes for the hundreds of stray and surrendered animals that come into our facility every year.
