*Weekly Stray Intake Post*
These are NOT all of our stray intakes for the week.
If you have lost your pet, visit our facility Tuesday - Saturday from noon - 4:00pm to reclaim your pet. Note* We will be closed this Thursday & Friday.

Please do not rely on our staff to identify your loved one. Bring proof of ownership (picture, video, vet records, etc.) After a week in our care, these animals are available for adoption.

We had several adoptions and a wonderful time at the PetSmart Charities National Adoption Weekend Event.

This sweet girl is Ezra. She had a great time at the event, but she didn’t find her forever home.
You can meet Ezra when we open again for adoptions on Tuesday.

2021 Bark in the Park Family Pet Portraits & the Weenie dog race winners have been posted in an album on our Facebook page. Thanks to all who stopped by Shelby Humane’s “Pawparazzi” 🐾booth* to participate and donate to Shelby Humane. Feel free to download these directly from the album OR If you would like for us to send your portrait in a higher resolution format than Facebook allows, please send your email address to us through Facebook Messenger with a screenshot of the photo(s) you would like. If you are unable to find your photo, please let us know also.

The adoption fee for puppies is $50 and the adoption fee for dogs/cats/kittens is only $5 with the donation of a blanket or canned cat food.

2021 Bark in the Park was a success! Don't miss all the photos in our Facebook album for the event that captured the fun had by pets and their pawrents, Shelby Humane’s adoptable dogs (many that were adopted!) 👏🏻 Enjoy photos of the costume contest including the winners 🥇, and the always popular weenie dog race. 🌭 A big thanks to Veterans’ Park in Alabaster, our wonderful vendors, sponsors, staff, and volunteers that participated. And we appreciate all the pet parents that brought their kitties and doggies to the vaccine and microchip clinic; our capable medical team and volunteers were able to see almost 300 pets. 🤩

This November, Shelby Humane would like to give thanks. We will spend this month thanking our staff, volunteers, donors, and supporters for helping us this year.

We want to start by thanking Best Friends of Shelby Humane. BF of SH consists of an amazing group of volunteers! They volunteer at Shelby Humane, host fundraisers, and are currently spending this week thanking the staff at Shelby Humane.

Another great day at Maplewood Lane Assisted Living! Thank you ladies for letting us bring some furry friends to visit. Everyone enjoyed the visit and we can't wait to come again next month.
