History and Mission:
The Lake Martin Humane Society was organized in October of 1982 for the purpose of preventing cruelty to animals. We planned to do this in two ways: by providing an Animal Shelter to care for unwanted animals, and by initiating various programs to teach the public about responsible pet ownership.
