If Ronnie were a person, she would be an imposing blonde with teased hair and a ring on every finger. She’d have a backpack purse full of makeup, snacks and a few airplane bottles of Rumchata at the bottom to spice up her hot chocolate from Sheetz. She’d be the first one on the dance floor, last one out the door and still up at 8AM to yardsale. Ronnie loves deeply, fiercely and has been described more than once as “a lot”. Ronnie is F U N. 😜

Hocus Pocus has been at our shelter almost a year with little interest. This sweet and sociable tortoiseshell cat LOVES being pet and gets along well with other cats. She has a polyp in her nasal cavity that makes her breathe like Darth Vadar but causes no health issues - it’s actually pretty cute! Hocus is spayed, up to date on shots and ready to find a home! Spatzel had a rough start to 2021.

One of our staff members stopped at a local produce stand and found Spatzel and her two kittens in a live trap. The owner of the stand was advertising the kittens "2 for $5" while Spatzel was free. 🤬 The staff member quickly purchased the whole family and another staff member fostered the little family. Spatzel's kittens have since been adopted (together! ❤️) and now Spatzel is looking for a home of her own. Spatzel is very petite at only 6lbs and has very unique tiger markings, making her look like an almost miniature bengal cat. Spatzel gets along well with other cats and was in foster with a large dog. Despite her past, she is so sweet and affectionate! 🥺

She is spayed, vaccinated, tested negative for FELV, FIV and microchipped. He’s unBEARably CUTE! 😍

Bear is a friendly, goofy Husky/Pit mix with lots of playful energy. He was born in early 2019. This beautiful bi-color eyed boy was surrendered because he was not good with cats his previous home. We were told he was good with the other dog and the 7-8 yr old children in the home. He has been fine with the other dogs at the shelter. “Stray Cat. Hurt really bad. Please help him!”

Tuesday morning, when staff pulled into our driveway, they were greeted by a lonely cardboard box in front of the gate. The ground was wet around the box but dry underneath, suggesting it had been there overnight. The taped box had a message scrawled across the top and inside, a single, injured kitten. Even though it was before 8AM, it was already stiflingly hot. Staff quickly got him inside the shelter and offered him food and water. Though he ate ravenously, it was obvious he was in pain, favoring his back left leg and crying in pain. A visit to our vet revealed that his back left femur was broke cleanly in half. 🥺

Sinbad (like the sailor from 1001 Nights, who had a life of adventure and comfort through “fortune and fate”) is scheduled to have surgery tomorrow to attempt and set his leg. He is currently in foster with a staff member. We are hopeful that because of his size and injury, his leg can be saved and he will have a speedy recovery. ❤️

Abandoning an animal off in the manner Sinbad was abandoned is unfair to our shelter, not only because we have to scramble to find placement for an injured kitten but funds to cover the surgery he needs, without any background on him or how the injury happened. We try our hardest to find placement for every animal asked of us, but cannot meet everyone request made of us due to limited space and resources. Still, abandoning an animal should NEVER be an option.

Thank you for continuing to support and our animals. Our amazing community, staff and volunteers always come through for our shelter and allow us to provide the high level of compassion and care our animals deserve. We couldn’t do ANYTHING with you! 😍

FOUR dogs in ONE week!!! ‼️🤪
ARC just accepted four new dogs into our shelter, each one cuter than the next!! We know we will have A LOT of interest for everyone in this group so if anyone seems right for you, please fill out an application and email it to Vicki@nokillarc.org.

First up is Quinn! Quinn is a gorgeous one year old girl with a long, medium build. Quinn needs a home without small children but she loves older children. Quinn takes some time to warm up but once she does she’s a total love bug!

Next we have Louie!! Louie is a handsome, 65lb, male, black lab. He is 5 years old and full of great lab energy! Louie is looking for an active family that can show him how to enjoy life’s adventures!

Forrest is our next young, striking, black lab gentleman. Forrest is 3 years old and has never lived in a home. Forrest will need someone willing to teach him how to feel safe and loved, but given his young age he shouldn’t have any trouble learning. We think another dog in the home would help him thrive. He is being treated for skin irritation but it’s expected that with some TLC he will have a shiny black coat again.

Marley is also a 3 year old lab that has never lived in a home. He too is being treated for some skin issues but we have no doubt that once healed, his yellow fur will match his brilliant yellow eyes! Marley is the biggest of the bunch at 81 pounds and would love to have a canine playmate to help him learn the comforts of home life.

All dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on shots and microchipped upon adoption.
